Cuba Libre Bar began in 1994 as just a small bar in Havana-Jax Cafe. It was immediately embraced by Jacksonville and it's people as it was the first experience the city had with the authentic taste and rhythms of Cuban culture.  The spirit and passion of the Latin nightlife gained a loyal following and such popularity that Cuba Libre Bar transformed into Jacksonville's first upscale Latin club, and became an attraction of its own, located next to its sister restaurant, Havana Jax Cafe, on August 10, 2003.

The owner, Silvia Pulido, says the decision on giving Cuba Libre Bar it's own space was inspired by her four children, who were all raised in Jacksonville, Florida. After high school, three of the children left the United States to pursue the medical profession in Costa Rica, where they enjoyed a unique Latin nightlife. Since their return, Silvia was inspired to 'up the ante' on the entertainment within her establishment in Havana-Jax Cafe by giving the people exactly what they've been wanting all along: it's own high-end nightclub infused with the culture and the rhythm of her native Latin culture.

Cuba Libre offers Latin music; a dance floor; a large-screen projection television; plush leather couches; beautiful, native art work; and exotic drinks native to the Caribbean. One of the special drinks that is served is the "Mojito". This drink was first mixed in Cuba and made famous worldwide by author Ernest Hemingway. Of course, here you can also find the drink that made the club famous, a Cuba Libre. There is a Happy Hour with drink specials and appetizers, along with regular special events.
